There’s a much longer thing to be written about platform dynamics, but I think what I’ve realized in spending less time on here is that a lot of people on substack write for other people on substack and look for the kind of positive feedback that comes from operating in a sort of platform in-group. That is to say, there’s a lot of sucking up and “omg a genius” style commentary without a lot of actual critical feedback or whatever. (And, as if to prove the dialectic, the only examples of the opposite dynamic are people who don’t know how to use a knife when it comes to hit pieces.)
