The current discourse on TikTok: “forcing me to say hello to customers is violence and creating hostile environments is anticapitalist praxis” has combined all of the things I’ve talked about at length: internet borne misanthropy, loserdom, the failings of sociology-speak and the trauma-ification of the internet.

People have taken academic concepts and twisted them into “being polite to people is bad for my mental health” and I truly cannot do it anymore!!!
