“If we remember the fundamental principle that the symptomatology of an illness is at the same time a natural attempt at healing. . . “
- Carl Jung
Thoughts: It’s called the law of similars. It is the foundation of homeopathy, some vaccines and allergy shots. A little bit of what makes one ill will also make us well again. I think of it as shadow work at a physical level. And it is not necessarily personal. The symptomatology of dis-ease is also witnessed at a cultural level, a national level and any other level or stage of our collective existence. So how to heal? Not by turning our back on the totality of the individual or nation. No, that doesn’t work. Not by treating a symptom over and over and over again, no that might keep the status quo intact but will not get to the heart of an illness or dis-ease . Nor will it heal. No, our symptoms can tell us where we have created separation or denied our true selves a place in our own lives, our own world. We often hide parts of who we are because of someone else’s opinion or out of a sense of our own survival. What has that to do with various dis-eases and healing? Well only we can decide that. What has our dis-ease to tell us about our individual selves? Our relationship with mold and bugs and other creepy crawlies? Anything? Does the law of similars have anything to do with cancer, diabetes, or heart disease? How about a cold or the flu? Then there are those dis-eases our health system barely acknowledges as ‘real’ like Lyme disease or fibromyalgia, do they count? Fibromyalgia was described to this author as a slow poisoning by the many chemicals 20th century big business as brought into our environment since WW1. And our bodies are being slowly poisoned by the not natural, human made creations. Ever wonder what the long term impact of Micro plastics might be? Cost analysis is how a company decides the costs of law suits will not interfere in the profits they make through the poisoning of citizens. Anyway I digress. We are the only ones who can decide if we are willing to live with the consequences of our own dis-ease process. If not make a change, if it isn’t worth it to you continue on. We live in a time now when insurance companies feel a MD can take 10-15 minutes to diagnose a patient’s complaint. This is a far cry from what my dad called his mother’s old medical book aka the Materia Medica. First published hundreds of years ago. All that I have discussed is true for our psychological heath as well. It was not my intent to make it sound like it was exclusively physical dis-ease I was referring to. Anyway, lots to think about. Blessings ♥️
