had to walk home in the rain today and while stopped waiting for a walk signal the woman next to me slowly moved her pink umbrella over a few steps so she could cover both of us. She said nothing- just softly smiled at me as I told her she made my day.

and the rest of my walk home I thought about all the cruelty and selfishness and unkindness we’ve seen in the world the last few months.

And how if everyone just did one gesture of kindness to a stranger each day as she did with her pink umbrella - how much more love we’d have on display in the world.
