The Department of Labor tweeted:

“One Homeland. One People. One Heritage. Remember who you are, American.”

Nazi propaganda pushed the slogan:

“Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer”(One People, One Realm, One Leader)

This isn’t a coincidence of wording. It’s a coincidence of ideology.

Democratic governments do not speak in the language of blood, heritage, and singular identity. That vocabulary belongs to nationalist movements that erase pluralism and redefine dissent as disloyalty.

When the state tells citizens there is one people, one heritage, and reminds them to “remember who you are,” it is no longer describing citizenship. It is enforcing identity.

You don’t need swastikas to recognize authoritarian grammar. History shows us how this language works, slowly, aesthetically, and under the cover of patriotism.

The Trump regime is echoing the darkest chapters of the 20th century. This is not normal. This is not acceptable. And it should alarm anyone who still believes democracy depends on diversity, not uniformity.
