Has anyone noticed the recurring pattern with MAGA?
Trump introduces an authoritarian idea.
MAGA absorbs the idea into its identity.
The idea is debated publicly, reframed as “only considered bad because the left says so.”
The Trump administration implements it.
The country, and often the world, reacts with alarm or condemnation.
MAGA celebrates it, treats it as normal, and retroactively declares it necessary and virtuous.
This isn’t a voter base evaluating policy. It’s a voter base adopting harm as ideology.
When Obama oversaw mass deportations, the left condemned it. It was not absorbed, defended as righteous, or normalized. When Obama’s drone strikes caused civilian deaths, the left condemned them. They weren’t celebrated or waved away as strength.
That consistency still exists today.
What’s different with Trump and MAGA is not disagreement, it’s authoritarian moral collapse. Cruelty becomes loyalty. Abuse becomes strength. Normalization replaces conscience.
This isn’t just policy drift. It’s the systematic dismantling of moral boundaries that should never have been abandoned.
