Somewhere along America’s historical timeline it became popular in many circles to believe the country should operate as a mega public company, with the president acting as our powerful chairman and CEO, and citizens effectively becoming mere company investors. But what about Congress and the Judicial Branch? Would Congress serve in the capacity of a weak board of directors and the judiciary as the compliance and governance committee, appointed by the chairman and rubber stamped by the board? That’s pretty much how it appears today. But that was never the vision of America’s founders, who thought they were establishing three co-equal branches of government. And they never intended for America to operate as a business enterprise - certainly not the corrupt enterprise it has now become.
