So I come in to work to an see an email this morning that there is a job opening (basically the same grade/position as I do here in Arizona) in Hawaii.
I’ve been a forecaster in Hawaii twice, including at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, so I’d probably have a reasonable chance of at least getting interviewed, if not selected.
Two of our girls graduate from high school next month. My other daughter who’s a sophomore already lives with her mom in Texas. Meanwhile Kelly’s youngest who is also a sophomore would probably beg to stay here with a friend, but if we “forced” him to go to Hawaii, I don’t think we’d be accused of abuse.
I’m not even sure I’m going to apply. It’s a training job, so it would be more intensive and stressful; and while I might get paid a little more than I do here, the expense of living in Hawaii would mean far less disposable income left over at the end of each month.
… but we’d be in Hawaii.
lol, I’m tempted to apply just the for the heck of it. But then I’d probably have a mini panic attack if I actually got the job. 😎
