It is not a question that the average American has needed to contemplate—well, that is, until recently. The idea of protecting a child sexual abuser seems absurd to most people, which usually leads to a quick response, “Of course not.” In fact, a contrarian response would get immediate attention, along with wild speculation about why anyone would protect individuals involved in such horrific acts. We, the American people are not falling for it.
