A-BlOC Monday Morning Wrap
A good Monday morning to all.
The first full weekend of February is now officially in the past and that’s not a bad thing if you were rooting for Lindsey Vonn’s comeback and yet another New England Patriots Duck Boat party.
Lindsey, America’s comeback story is currently in stable condition after undergoing surgery to repair a fracture in her left leg. The injury was sustained when she caught a gate at the beginning of the women's downhill and crashed out, being airlifted off the mountain at the 2026 Winter Olympics. This injury coming after last week’s knee injury, an ACL tear and decision to compete after successful training runs.
American teammate, Breezy Johnson took the Gold medal in the downhill, the second American woman to hold the title, joining…yes, Lindsey Vonn in holding the honors.
The weekend also, saw investigators back at the home of Nancy Guthrie, still missing, a victim of an abductor demanding millions of dollars to return her to her family, ransom deadline set for today at 5pm.
The mother of Today Show host, Savannah Guthrie, Nancy is 84 years-old and in frail health, with limited mobility and in need of daily life-sustaining medication.
The latest release by the Pima County Arizona Sheriff’s department states that the investigation is ongoing with follow-up continuing at multiple locations. “No suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles have been identified,” as posted on social media.
There are no scheduled press briefings.
The FBI offered a $50k reward for information leading to the safe return of Mrs. Guthrie. The Guthrie family publicly informed the kidnappers that they would pay the ransom.
The weekend behind, what a world to wake up to this morning.
Ghislaine Maxwell, the monsterous convicted sex trafficker, former girlfriend and associate of the deceased Jeffrey Epstein, purveyor of children, internationally and throughout the United States, invoked her 5th Amendment Rights against self-incrimination in a video appearance before the House Oversight Committee on Monday morning.
The legal move to avoid testimony leaves many questions as to Maxwell’s culpability in possible untold, uncharged and undisclosed criminal activities from which she is seeking protection.
Maxwell, in December 2025, filed a Habeas Corpus petition seeking relief from her conviction, asking the Federal Court “to vacate, set aside, or correct her conviction and sentence.”
Maxwell’s petition is partially premised on an argument that “exculpatory information was withheld, false testimony presented, and material facts misrepresented to the jury and the Court.”
That evidence is believed to include the allegation that none of four (4) named women Epstein co-conspirators or twenty-five (25) men with alleged ‘secret settlements’ were indicted for participation and involvement with the international crime organization.
“The Government could have indicted the 4 named co-conspirators, or any of the 25 men that settled secretly with the Plaintiff's lawyers for the complainants (see footnote 10) but did not,” the Petitioner, Maxwell wrote.
