I was wondering what others may think, and if you know if this is/was considered.

Using a model like Pandora, for accessing content.

I’m not necessarily interested in changing Substack’s current model, but I’ve been wondering if a user pays a fee, it allows them access to a creative’s paid content.

For the content producer, I think it would be another checkbox when you post, allowing access to fee-based users. Then, if a fee-based user selects to access content behind a paywall, then they get access & the producer receives a defined amount of money per access.

Amount of content a user could access, how much the producer makes, and other details, I have no input. I just think it opens doors for both consumers and producers, and removes some of the “burden” of subscribing/unsubscribing.

There is far too many worthy creatives on this platform to subscribe to all of them, especially when Substack forces minimums. I believe this opens up more opportunity for producers to put their content behind paywalls, & actually make some or more money.
