One of the reasons I’m here is to stick up for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It’s important that those not impacted by SA get a full picture. It’s so much more than “bad memories” or “a past that you need to get over”. It’s an all-encompassing hell that yes, there is SO MUCH HOPE that you can heal from, but it’s brutal. It’s not what you think it is. It doesn’t look the way you think it would. Trauma doesn’t have a look to it. If you met me in real life, you might not believe my story.

Please dig deeper. Sit with those who are suffering. Don’t lecture them. Love them from where they’re at, not where you’re at.
