Memory Verse:

Being in a state of having purified your souls by the obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto an unhypocritical brotherly fondness, out from a clean heart you all fervently love one another, having been born again, not out from a corruptible seed, but incorruptible through the abiding Word of the living God—1 Peter 1:22-23.

The strength of this passage is often lost in translation. Our souls are in a state of purification by obedience to the truth. Because we are born again in our spirit by an incorruptible seed, this purification does not cease. Therefore, let us obey Christ’s commandment to love other Christians as He loved us with genuine and sincere fondness for the brethren that is free from pretense or deceit. This is done by seeking the best for other members of the body of the Christ with a warm disposition.
