Next month we will remember our 35th anniversary of independence with friends all around the world, but we must never forget that this nation is centuries and centuries older.

It lived in the heart of brave Ukrainians who called this land Ukraine through every empire that punished the name.

Empires took the state more than once, though they never once took what those people were holding inside.
