A city hums

Like a bee’s hive

Divided labor drums

Increasing at the sun’s rise

Cars rumble

Buildings shiver

Heels click and sneakers squeak

So many people moving

On their feet

Trucks rattle and growl

Highways moving resources and people

Trains moving more

People kissing their kids as they move through the door

Toddlers bound and prattle

They and their caregivers unseen

In a world so complex

That when a few go mean

Everyone puts their hands to their ears

To stifle the bone shattering scream

Protests bring out the people

Knowing that people are wealth

Not things

Division of labor

Accumulation of skills

Only idiots don’t see the value in humans

And as they take too many pills

Destroy the nation

Increase the damage to the ill

Because they want newer jets

And to be in the company of princes and kings

They don’t realize that the trappings

Are merely a disguise for the efforts of the many

And the division of labor

Where the human experience is the greatest value

While gold, trinkets, and bitcoin

Are distractions

For the gamblers 2025
