The Liberal government in Ottawa has made a point, over the past decade, of hiring retired Supreme Court justices to advise or consult on all sorts of issues, laundering difficult political decisions through the supposedly non-partisan credibility of the Supreme Court. The next government might do well to put a quick stop to that practice, and spend more time listening to the Gerard Comeau’s of this world.
