Talk to professors, administrators, and parents of future students. Challenge them to align university budgets with their sustainability goals. The solution isn’t more parking garages—it’s designing campuses where cars aren’t necessary.

The Liberal government in Ottawa has made a point, over the past decade, of hiring retired Supreme Court justices to advise or consult on all sorts of issues, laundering difficult political decisions through the supposedly non-partisan credibility of the Supreme Court. The next government might do well to put a quick stop to that practice, and spend more time listening to the Gerard Comeau’s of this world.
