The administration just launched the biggest attack on the Endangered Species Act since the law was written. And they did it the week before Thanksgiving, hoping no one would notice.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum dropped four rulemakings that gut the ESA in every meaningful way. They make economic costs part of listing decisions. They strip protections from threatened species. They cripple critical habitat. They hand industry veto power. They weaken wildlife consultations to the point of uselessness.
It is a blueprint for extinction disguised as “reform.”
And the thirty day comment period runs through the holidays by design. They know it is illegal. They want it buried under travel and football and noise.
Share it with someone who needs to know the ESA is being dismantled right now, in real time, while the country looks the other way.
