A new federal report just blew up one of the biggest myths in American politics. The strongest economy on public land isn’t oil, gas, timber, or mining. It’s outdoor recreation. And it’s not even close.
Recreation on federal lands generates one hundred twenty eight point five billion dollars a year. Nearly a million jobs. Billions in wages and tax revenue. All of it renewable.
Recreation accounts for more economic value than all of the extractive industries – grazing, oil, gas, timber, mining, etc – COMBINED.
The math says otherwise. The stronger economy keeps getting sacrificed so the weaker one can keep calling the shots.
Expose the lie. Share with anyone (and everyone) who needs to see the numbers.
