The Trump administration was just given a green light by Congress to keep plundering America’s public lands.
That happened when the 2026 funding bills for the National Park Service, Forest Service, BLM, and EPA passed with bipartisan celebration.
Budgets were preserved, so leaders declared victory. But the bills imposed almost no binding limits on how agencies can be hollowed out, laws bypassed, or protections dismantled in practice.
Appropriations are supposed to be where Congress draws red lines. Through riders. Through prohibitions. Through enforceable limits on abuse.
Congress abdicated again and we are all the bag holders.
