Make money doing the work you believe in

A private resort for billionaires just used the U.S. Forest Service to steal a mountain range in Montana from the American public. The Interior Secretary is a member.

Yep, we’re talking about Doug Burgum. He owns a $22 million condo inside the gates of the Yellowstone Club, held through an LLC. He holds a separate ownership stake in the club itself. He didn't divest a cent of it before taking the job overseeing 500 million acres of your federal land.

The other members include Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Warren Buffett, and Justin Timberlake. Many buy through shell companies to hide their affiliation.

The deal sent 3,855 acres of public land into private hands. What the public received in return was high-altitude rock the appraiser said was unhuntable and would require "a skilled rock climber" to navigate. The billionaires got the valleys, the timber, and the wildlife. The public got mountaintop ice.

Two trails the public had used for more than a century were erased. The Forest Service never once analyzed the option of simply defending the access we already had.

This isn't a Montana scandal. It's the blueprint. The Yellowstone Club itself was built on land taken from the public the same way thirty years ago. They've now shown the rest of the country how it's done.

Read the full investigation. The names. The loophole Congress still won't close. And share with everyone who needs to see it.
