I did not know there was an insulin shortage until I couldn't get my prescription filled. The strangest and most surreal advice I got from a medical professional was, “You're probably really polite, which is good most of the time, but you need to go in there and beg them to help you. Tell them you are pregnant and trying to keep your baby healthy and that there is limited time to do so.” Everything and everyone is fine and healthy right now, so I don't feel guilty …
