During testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Secretary of State Marco Rubio forcefully defended the Trump administration's policy to admit white South Africans as refugees, asserting that the United States is a sovereign nation with "the right to pick and choose who they allow into the United States.”
From the outset Trump's policies have unilaterally targeted for deportation non-white immigrants and publicly stated he would prioritize white Afrikaners for U.S. refugee resettlement.
Trump signed an EO "Addressing Egregious Actions of the Republic of South Africa," reshaping U.S immigration and asylum to favor white South Africans.
Claiming white South Africans face "race-based persecution" and "unjust racial discrimination" he is preferentially favoring the white population of South Africans.
Meanwhile Prominent white Afrikaner organizations have openly rejected the Trump administration's assertion of a humanitarian crisis, stating that they do not need preferential refugee status nor do they wish to leave South Africa.
