The blank page before you is a tease. It’s a torturer too. Right there before you is a realm full of possibility, just waiting to be revealed by the careful selection of words.
The potential exists not only for the story or essay you may produce, but also for the change it may deliver to you. Perhaps it will be relief, perhaps revelation; but there is also, the peril of the pain and frustration. You may not achieve what you intended; indeed, in achieving you may have seen your intentions confounded.
That blank page can easily be romanticised. It’s just a piece of work after all, another thing to be accomplished. Yet, why not take that risk of imbuing that blank page with hope.
