When giving birth to one of my daughters, there were some medical issues and it was determined that I would be sent home without her. After a long labor, which resulted in a C-Section anyway, hormones raging, I locked myself in the bathroom (she, was a later in life child, so I was fortunate to have a “birth suite” this time—-didn’t have that with my first—-born in a ward with little privacy—-THAT was interesting🙄)

I WAS HYSTERICAL at the thought of going HOME without my CHILD. My husband (at the time🙄) and I fought the insurance company with the help of some kind nurses and doctors. We won a couple more days stay and the baby went home with me as soon as she could, healthy.

THIS in NO WAY compares to what a new MOMMY is going through being picked up by ICE on the way to see her newborn. I cannot imagine the America I was born and raised in behaving this way. The American Dream? It’s a Fairy Tale, too, just like MEN being the “Protector.” My heart breaks for immigrant mothers separated from their children.💔

Until racism and misogyny are CRUSHED, there is NO AMERICAN Dream.

If you like my salty/sweet take on things, I’ll be sharing more of my life experiences in creative narrative form and others on my page! I hope you’ll give me a read, follow, or share. buymeacoffee.com/WordSp…
