This list is important.

We are NOT the minority. If I could have been at the local protests that popped up against this Regime yesterday, I would have! I’ve gone to all of them because they fell during my lunch break. My shift at the store changed with my new semester. I’m at my point limit. I can’t be late nor can I miss work or I won’t have a job.

It might be more difficult to attend now and that saddens me considering how alone I feel in my little rural neighborhood. I follow my adult children’s wishes for my safety and don’t have any “identifiers” out as far as my political beliefs.

Who would have thought that this is the “America” I’d be living in, but I’ve learned from working where I work that nowhere is safe. So many are filled with hate and anger, they’ve lost their minds. I don’t trust law enforcement in my area, either. Not with who the sheriff is in my county. I’m sure that there are many, many others, that feel as I do but though I take precautions, I’m not worried. I’ll do what I can to protect myself, but I’m not going to live in fear.

I used to be a pretty good shot. I’ve not shot a pistol before, though. 2026 holds many changes to my life routines I plan to make, One includes an appointment at a shooting range recommended by a veteran friend of mine, a 67 year old marine, who is appalled at this Regime, like many more I know. He happens to be black and normally, when telling stories, I wouldn’t mention that fact, but the way this Regime has treated persons of color, these times demand that I do because his experience is different. He’s had to overcome more than I ever have simply because of skin color.

My three adult daughters and I are going. No worries about my son and his wife. He married a country girl I adore and though he was raised in the city, he learned how to hunt. His city raised sisters, they’re going to learn to shoot and I’m going to brush up skills and buy me a pistol. I’m guessing I’ll look for a girly pink one!🤣
