When the most professional, talented, and capable persons — available and in place — are systematically driven out of an important organization — say, a national government —

When the least principled, least qualified, least capable, most venal, most corrupt, and most incompetent persons are nominated, confirmed, and retained in critical posts of a national government — or some other organization, which a sane society would reasonably hope might (somehow) remain stable, viable, and effective — in its proper and distinctive functions —

When “law enforcement” personnel act lawlessly, when deliberative bodies refuse to deliberate, when representative bodies refuse to represent their constituents —

When a high court refuses to uphold the rule of law impartially, rationally, consistently, and to practical effect, in reality —

When a “Commander in Chief” declines — or demonstrates that he is incapable of — listening to reason, when he ignores (or dismisses) the professional advice of competent, deeply experienced military experts, who are loyal to the Nation and its national security, who actually (and in fact) know much more than he does —

When any Nation awakens, to find that it has been systematically weakened, by the incompetence (or treachery) of its highest leadership — systematically weakened, over a considerable period of time —

Then it is time for a change. It is past time.
