The best magic I know is embarrassingly low-tech: Notice three beautiful things before noon. Say thank you to the oak tree. Light a candle before you sit down to work. Put your hand on the earth at least once a day.

None of this requires a degree in mysticism. It requires remembering that the world is alive and you are part of it—and acting accordingly. That's the whole thing. Thirty years of study and that's what I keep coming back to. (The faeries find this hilarious.)
