An incredibly alarming Ebola situation is unfolding in Central Africa. A friend and colleague text me putting it simply: “I have worked in DRC for a quarter of a century but I have never felt so sad about what’s to come.”
Below is the trajectory compared to other Ebola outbreaks. It’s not good due to a myriad of reasons, including delayed detection, decimated support because of USAID cuts, strain (or “species”) with no vaccine or treatment, tough location, and more.
