I have said this before. This is my friend, Aliya. I went to graduate school with her. She is a good person who cares for her community. She has dedicated her life to helping those around her.
When you see her in this picture, know that she was on her way to the doctor and that she was ripped out of her car violently. Know that they ripped her out of her car because they knew she was a Brown, queer woman and activist.
They did not care that she was on her way to a doctor’s appointment.
They did not care that she said she had a traumatic brain injury.
They did not listen to her, and she ended up unconscious and in the hospital.
So when The Telegraph uses her photo and says that younger women are too angry and have “toxic empathy,” they are demonizing a woman who was abused by a fascist secret police force-- and claiming that the “real harm” is that she was angry for being abused.
The venn diagram between domestic abuse and domestic terror in the United States is a full circle. Free people have a right to be angry when they are ripped out of their car, their disability is disregarded, and their civil rights are disregarded-- all because a child rapist and insurrectionist is tearing the country apart so that he doesn’t have to face accountability.
The Telegraph is a fascist paper.
Bankrupt them. Figure out who is advertising in their papers and boycott them. Embarrass their CEOs. Embarrass their editorial board. More than that, protest outside of every single store and corporation that makes the Telegraph’s survival possible through their advertising dollars.
These people haven’t even seen angry yet.
