Al-Aqsa is indeed mentioned in the Quran, but not in the context of Jerusalem. Many Islamic scholars argue that the Al-Aqsa Mosque—where Muhammad is said to have carried out his famous "Night Journey"—is actually located in the town of Al-Ji'rana in Saudi Arabia, and has no connection whatsoever to Jerusalem.
