I’m no attorney, but I’m pretty sure that bounty hunters, vigilantes, contractors, whatever you call them, don’t enjoy the kind of qualified immunity that government officials, police officers etc. do. Therefore, they can be sued individually. There needs to be an effort to identify these people and hold them accountable. I’m picturing something like the (highly effective) effort to identify the Jan 6 terrorists. Look at the so called security guards that roughed up the woman at the meeting in Idaho. Those guys are facing serious criminal and civil actions. Let’s get busy.
