1. Definitely “National Emergency” has been corrupted and perverted, but would not this administration equate a national emergency with a “major national disaster”, and are we not already at war with Venezuela?
2. Inspector Generals: That alone should’ve filled the streets with disgust. In light of Trump’s MAGA cult how does “Congressional approval“ provide any comfort?
3. Amen to putting some muscle into conflict of interest questions. I’m guessing he is currently in violation up the wazoo, which raised as a question of enforcement of existing laws and regulations.
4. “Congressional action needed“: What if the majority in Congress are a cult and a rubber stamp? What kind of laws will they make or make up?
5. Are “Push back“ and a major national out-cry close to being too late? This fire is already out of control, and I believe beyond recovery with dreams of waiting until November of 2026 for “everything will be all right again”.
6. How absolutely gross have Presidential pardons become?
Are we not a sewer? Except for our adversaries is not the world holding its nose over our current stench?
Apologies Bruce. I’m not sufficiently focused “within the system” at the moment. You are headed in the sane direction and your conversation needs serious participation. The adults in the room must look now toward cleaning up this disaster.
But need we ask how we arrive at scumbags? What are scumbags?
This country has been conditioned for decades toward turning its back on problems, analysis, accountability, and any sense of self reflection. We do no wrong; our leaders do no wrong; our government does no wrong. Our corporate charters contains zero mention of morality or ethics. Accountability is monetary damages, and why not move forward in any direction if the profit out weighs the penalties. No criminal accountability? Money and acquisitions are worshiped, and the worship of money has seriously replaced the church.
Since the 1960s, we annihilate millions of SE Asians, dump our troops on the streets and the wilderness areas of this country, launched a drug industry to get over it, showed some decency by impeaching a President, drove decency out of office, installed a regal who sold “government is the problem“, initiated stripping corporations of capital with phony split-ups and monopolistic acquisitions, invaded Iraq, shipped manufacturing overseas with the unkept promise of reeducating the workforce, blew up some buildings and headed over to the Middle East with another military build up and lies to assure access to strategic resources, lined some pockets with the riches that came back from the ground and the crowns, and watched the largest Christian denomination in the United States and the world twist and turn with perversion and deceit and the inevitable moral decline of the populous.
All this time, the homeless have been on the streets, staring back at us through rain and wind and cold and darkness - with perhaps a message?
As if the staggering wealth discrepancy between the top 1% and the remainder of the population is not enough – the current administration wants to shatter everything at the bottom to further pollute and pay for the greed at the top. How dumb and mentally deranged does the “voting” bottom have to be to buy into that line? Are we not really talking about stupidity and mental illness? Donald Trump did not make us stupid, but maybe we ought to look into this?
Have the Royal colonial mutations resurfaced, and is the struggle far larger than one narcissistic mentally disturbed cult leader.
