I have a theory that entity possession (and to an extent psychopathy) are linked to heavy metal poisoning: the artificiality gives the external non human force a foothold in the body. This is the ultimately how Jibby jabs fit in to the agenda: a gradual stealth way to make our bodies more artificial and hijackable.
