You are quite wrong about caste discrimination in Silicon Valley. The Cisco case was dismissed.
I worked in Cisco for ten years. I knew or interacted with hundreds of Indians at Cisco during that time. I never even knew the caste of anybody. And I never heard any reference to caste mentioned among Indian employees or managers, even in informal small group conversations.
IMO, it is far more likely that you would be (illegally) discriminated in SV based on age, sex, race, religion, or national origin than based on caste. But SV has plenty of opportunities for everybody. So with some persistence, one can get around these types of discriminations.
