Good point. I’m old enough to remember the 1982 invasion of Lebanon and aftermath. It was only two years later that I was able to read full accounts in English through Noam Chomsky’s book “The Fateful Triangle” and the brave journalism of Robert Fisk. The invasion cost the lives of 20 to 30 thousand Lebanese and Palestinians and ended with massacres at Sabra and Shatilla. Going through these accounts one finds the same actions by the IDF as today in Gaza - the flattening of civilian neighbourhoods, the indiscriminate killing of non-combatants, the sadistic torture and humiliation of prisoners. The genocidal assault on Gaza represents nothing new in terms of the racist violence of the zionist regime, even though the scale has increased. However today we can see this first hand instead of waiting for books and journalistic accounts,
