Not by the moms (at least, not a vast majority of them) but rather it’s a choice made by the elected officials who refuse to build - or worse, proactively tear down - a social safety net and by the business leaders who refuse to do the work to make their companies accommodating. Flexible work environments within reason, clear metrics and standards for success, and space/resources for people to get their jobs done and also be full people outside of work are all part of being a good employer (and will help the bottom line.)
A business (and country) that’s good for working moms is good for everyone.
So either these leaders don’t care, or this is the outcome they want.
