In Internal Family Systems, I call the spiritual managers or spiritual firefighters.

It’s a spiritual bypass that LOOKS like Self, but is actually a freeze or dissociated state of spiritual bypass.

Buddhism when practiced incorrectly is very good at creating this state, as are most religions.

"dissociative expansive"—a state that masquerades as spiritual advancement, positivity, healing, excitement, joy, but is actually a sophisticated escape from embodied reality. It's dissociation that looks like enlightenment, disconnection that feels like transcendence, leaving the body that gets packaged as coming home to yourself.
