I think you’re right that the EP position on Israel-Gaza shifted since the elections. I was involved with the resolutions in 2023 and 2024 (before the elections) and can remember that the majorities were sometimes very slim. Not on the resolutions as a whole, but on parts of it specifically about the ceasefire, whether it should be immediate and permanent for example. In the second or third resolution, an EPP amendment to make the ceasefire conditional got adopted with about 10 votes. Then in March or April 2024 on a different report, an amendent from the Left for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire was adopted; but that probably wouldn’t be possible anymore in the current EP.
