I greatly enjoyed this piece Nick. On first reading I had difficulty with what seemed like a shift in register between the beginning and the rest of the piece, but in the end it seemed like a good synthesis. We are all summoned while living the kind of day to day experience you describe so well. What you write also serves as an introduction to lots of interesting things IU had to look up a cloth arrow; minatory - good word; and Gabrieli’s experimentation with spatial effects. Thank you also for reminding me of Bill Buffery bestriding the stage. The other thing that I remember about those plays at your school (which my brother attended) were the illustrations for the program. They seemed remarkable at the time. I believe they were done by someone by the name of Davy Limb. I’m probably mangling it.
