Like virtually all popular science supporting modern liberalism (e.g. "depression is a chemical imbalance!" "obesity isn't a function of food and exercise!" "this is what Covid looks like [SCARY PAINTING]!)”, whatever studies referenced in this thread as incontrovertible facts surely fall apart the second you poke around.
HOWEVER, all new science is, in a way, a metaphor for reality. Even much old reliable science is in some ways just an extremely high functioning applied allegory for actual reality, versus an exact understanding of what's really going on.
When you're talking about anything in the brain, you're dipping into the metaphysical world where science by definition cannot help. This is why lies like "depression is a chemical imbalance" are so effective—because it actually does paw at something real and inexplicable...which unfortunately is then used to manipulate you in negative ways.
But a thread like this uses that same pop science mechanism to manipulate you in a positive way. The science here is surely shoddy, but the model it paints is realer than real, poetically real, barbed with science. And for this reason I fully subbort.
