As to how to work this into Combatives, the examples in judo are not apparent and not addressed in modern English resources on judo teaching or history. For that, you have to delve into pre WWII Japanese resources, many over 100 years old and written in archaic Japanese language long abandoned; most modern educated native Japanese can’t read them or understand them even if they try because they don’t understand the context.
