Fun story: a few years back I played Imogen in a production of Cymbeline in Central Park at the same time Lily and Hamish were starring in Cymbeline at the Delacorte.

Our production was scrappy AF, but we had a dialect coach and original music and a fun 60s aesthetic, and we incorporated some Noh theater movement. At one point I was “swimming” while being carried by some of the actors; they put me down and I shook myself like a wet dog and pounded a little “water” out of my ear (audience loved that bit), and looked out at the sidewalk and there was Lily Rabe, watching us. Probably on her way to work where she would be paid many times the honorarium we earned for chucking ourselves into the dirt on a hot day. I wonder what she was thinking.

I actually went to see that Cymbeline at the Delacorte. Left at intermission.
