At the core of NAR theology is spiritual warfare. They believe demonic strongholds exist in specific physical locations on earth, and that through prayer, prophecy, and “warring in the spirit,” they can break these strongholds. In their worldview, God requires prayer in order to act. The stakes for them are insurmountably high: if God does not act, the forces of darkness may triumph.
