Going to start posting some micro-content as a way to kickstart the Gridology content machine! First up: Mental Health Month.
When I started my own mental health journey nearly four years ago, I jumped in not knowing what to expect. I knew I was anxious. I knew I was not managing stress well. I did not know how to make it all go away.
Seeing a therapist every other week for the last four years has made all the difference in my personal and professional life. It's scary to think about what my anxiety would feel like today if I hadn't started therapy when I did.
Let this post serve as an example of someone who seemingly has it put together on paper, but didn't (and still doesn't) have it together in reality.
Mental health is a journey, not a destination.
I'm lucky to have found a therapist who helps me live my best life. While not zero, my anxiety is down sharply (90%+)—mostly because I now have the proper toolkit to help me address life's obstacles.
If you've been thinking about seeing a therapist and have been putting it off or are too scared to even start the process, let this LinkedIn post be the kick you need.
So, please stop scrolling and take any of the actions below:
1. Go text a friend and ask for a referral
2. Browse and reach out to some therapists on Psychology Today
3. Ping me directly for a referral—I'm happy to help
It gets better, you just have to start.
