This annual event brings cold, nutrient-rich water from the deep to the surface, feeding fisheries, cooling coastlines, and maintaining the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. It’s collapse is a symptom of a planetary system under stress. When the trade winds falter and ancient cycles unravel, we are reminded that Earth is a complex, breathing organism. And like any organism, it can be pushed too far.
