One of my projects on deck for this week: digging and installing a wooden post for the 5th bluebird house I’ll be adding to my farm… and installing a smaller wooden post for a bee hotel going in my garden.
The bee hotel was gifted to the farm at my farm stand and handmade in the Adirondacks. Thank you again to the individual who made it.
I am very excited to get it outside for the bees that need nooks and crannies to overwinter.
The bluebird house must be installed at 4-6 feet above ground, facing out into an open field /prairie. There has to be at least 100 feet of distance between each bluebird house.
The bee hotel should be around 3-4 feet above ground.
I have my shovel and Quikrete ready to go for later this week!
