I see that now, and realized I skipped over it as my brain seems to associate the italicized wording with the button feature on Substack articles (also, I was reading quickly while supervising kids outdoors), and I edited my post to make that clear. Even with a disclosure, however, the bias exists and deserves highlighting.
I personally think the statements, which you yourself put emphasis on by highlighting them with bold font, that we are evolving to make worse breastmilk and that we are not currently evolving to breastfeed are inflammatory. Those are the sorts of statements people will read and take very seriously, especially coming from someone well respected like yourself. Those statements are not facts, they are your own sensationalized interpretations of what certain studies have found, of which there is conflicting evidence in other studies. Again, I appreciate much of your work, and this is why I found those statements disappointing—especially when paired with the conflict of interest.
I think this is especially relevant when you look at your statements and then see that they are being used as validation for short interval pregnancy, something I, much like Ann Ledbetter, have seen have not so great outcomes from in my own career. Women have to shoulder the consequences of these things.
