Chocolate cinder toffee–recipe is up now.

Crunchy and chewy cinder toffee, with its delicious taste of burnt honey and caramel, enrobed in creamy milk chocolate.

You probably, like me, know cinder toffee by its more commonly used name of honeycomb, but I think cinder toffee is such a lovely name. It conjures up images in my mind of a crackling roaring fire, with its rich amber hues and warmth, which in turn makes me think of this toffee. These are essentially homemade Cadbury Crunchie bars.

When I was little, I came to associate the chocolate bar with my dad, as they were his go-to. If ever we had a box of chocolate that contained Crunchies, I avoided them because I knew they were dad’s favourite. They’re one of the many sweets that we can’t get here in Sweden, and one of the things that Rob asks that I bring back when I travel to Scotland. What a lovely feeling to know that I can now make them whenever we’re craving a little taste of nostalgia.
