Bear with me on this metaphor, friend. I wrote a series of columns in college about working with a personal trainer for the first time. I wrote about how I never understood before when people referred to the body as a temple. But what is a temple? It’s a place to house sacred things. Our bodies house the most sacred things about us - our hearts, our minds, our souls. But temples are just physical structures. They need to be repaired. They can fall apart. It doesn’t change the sacredness of the things that they house and protect. Your temple is going through a reconstruction right now - but without a building plan! You don’t know what the finished result will look like. But the sacred things it houses - the things we all love most about you - remain unchanged. I hope that makes sense, and maybe helps a little. Thank you for writing. 💜
