To claim the Sonnenrad has no basis in pre-Christian history is disingenuous.

You use the simple lack of any real knowledge on the Zierscheibe as evidence it had no “religious meaning”. We have no idea of the significance it could have held to Bronze Age Germanic peoples. Clearly there must have been some cultural meaning and norms in the symbol, seeing as Zierscheiben were mainly found in the graves of women, and were not a universal symbol among different tribes. but sadly will can never truly know.

Further, the Sonnenrad was clearly inspired by the design of certain Zierscheiben nearly one to one, it was not “loosely based on it”.

Why do Christian’s seem so keen on appropriating and distorting our symbols? Just like so much else, they take from the pagan and pre-Christian past of Europe and twist it into their own faith, while retroactively denouncing anything before the death of Christ. Christianity is an anti-creative force, all they can do is take and destroy culture.
